Denis Wick is very pleased to be one of the sponsors of an important piece of research by CSFI on the COVID-19 Disinfection of Musical Instruments. Their work has been sponsored by Buffet-Crampon, Conn-Selmer, Selmer Paris, Vandoren and Denis Wick amongst others. The CSFI (the French Musical Instrument Manufacturing Association) have conducted some extremely thorough research and will be presenting their findings at a Webinar hosted by the MIA on Thursday 25th February from 6.00 – 7.00 PM.
Bell Covers are here!
Denis Wick has teamed up with a leading Northern textile company to produce new stretchable bell covers that reduce the risk of spreading harmful airborne droplets and aerosols produced by brass instruments. The covers are very easy to fit and make no perceptible difference to the sound of the instrument. The player might notice a very slight difference in response in the high register, but the sound remains true from low to high.
This product will be popular amongst school ensembles,

Beautiful Sunshine…
May was a beautiful sunny month in Poole and our solar panels generated a massive 4 MWh of power. During working hours this power was used in the factory. When the factory was shut it was fed back into the grid. Since the installation of the panels we have saved 28,294 kg of CO2 emissions, the equivalent of planting 1,295.18 trees. Denis Wick is proud to be part of the effort to reduce global warming!
Denis Wick Artists Summit
Musicians have had all their performing work cancelled, but Denis Wick Artists got together on-line to have an Artists Summit. Stephen Wick took part in the online session where this diverse group of players, normally so busy, had the leisure to describe what they were doing with their enforced down time. Many of the artists already have a well-developed online presence. Denis Wick Artist Christopher Bill is the most subscribed brass player on Facebook with 450,000 followers.

Bleach will seriously damage the silver plating of a mouthpiece and should never be used. Sodium hypochlorite is a strong oxidant and will cause the silver to tarnish very rapidly. In addition, it will generate sodium hydroxide which will etch into the silver and cause pitting,

Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was enacted as a ballot initiative in November 1986. The proposition protects the state’s drinking water sources from being contaminated with chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to inform Californians about exposures to such chemicals.
