The is year's Frankfurt musikmesse was busier than ever for the Denis Wick team. we saw more overseas dealers and met more musicians than any previous year, and our bigger booth was a real bonus.
Denis Wick was there in person and was able to answer many queries about the mouthpieces and mutes. He also had the chance to catch up with some old friends, including mute maker Tom Crown.

The stand was manned by Brian Miller (General Manager) and Stephen Wick (Director) and assisted by Lisa Ruth, Will Spencer and Isobel Wick. Lisa is fluent in English and Spanish as well as her native German and her ability as a translator was in constant demand. Will has developed the brilliant Denis Wick Valve Oil and is also an expert trumpet-maker and was able to answer many technical questions not only about oil but also trumpet-related matters. Isobel is a horn player and was kept busy making sure the mouthpieces always looked their best!
We were very pleased to welcome the wonderful trumpet quartet Bella Tromba who performed twice on the Acoustic Stage, playing, amongst other things a new arrangment of the theme from Rocky. Despite a hectic schedule and a British Airways strike, they played beautifully and had a busy time signing their posters. They will be performing at The International Women's Brass Conference in Toronto in June.

Amongst many overseas distributors we met with Duoli Wu of Aria Beijing. Duoli is doing a great job of building the market in China of Denis Wick Products.

There was a lot of interest in new lines from Denis Wick, including the Ultra euphonium and baritone mouthpieces, the newly re-introduced Classic tuba mouthpieces and the new range of mouthpiece pouches and mute bags.
